Mid-Lent Veneration of the Holy Cross

Today the 3rd Sunday of Great and Holy Lent, our Orthodox Church commemorates the Precious and Life-Giving Cross of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. The Service included a special veneration of the Cross, which prepares the faithful for the commemoration of the Crucifixion during Holy Week but also reminding us that it is the Cross which will give us strength to continue the rest of the journey of Great Lent. What a Blessing to see our church full, with so many new faces. Greetings and blessings were also conveyed by our Patriarchal Exarch & Bishop who recalled it was exactly a year since his visit to our humble Church.
