On Sunday 12th November 2017, Our Church Consecration, led by our Patriarchal delegation Metropolitan Epiphanios (Patriarchal Vicar) took place. A blessed and Historical day for our church! What an emotional and historical day for our church! Record crowds, packed church and hall...in and out. A day we will never forget, attended by hundreds with distinguished guests, dignitaries and ambassadors. At the end of the consecration service the Patriarchal Vicar- awarded Fr Savas with the Highest Award-Medal & order of the Patriarchate for clergy - The Medal of St Nicholas, for the endless and tireless work he has done establishing from scratch a church which has now over 700 members. Mr Constantine Vellis our President was also awarded for hard work and effort & dedication to the church, the Medal of the Patriarchate & order of St Vladimirs, as were others acknowledged for their contribution to the church. This ended the Patriarchal Delegations official Program and visit to Australia, having arrived earlier for a 10 day official visit organised by our Parish. The Patriarchal Vicar, also visited our other Ukranian Sister Parishes in Sydney & Newcastle & met representatives of our Adelaide and Brisbane Parishes, Ambassadors and other local MP's and Politicians. It was a wonderful and Historic Visit from the second highest ranking Metropolitan of our Patriarchate who visited Australia for the first time. What a blessing! Glory to God!
